Mass opens its first studio in London
The first Mass Collective studio space is now open joining the Morris+Company co-working community in Hackney, East London.
Between trips to distant foreign lands and work commitments, it's been a quiet year for Mass. Now that we're back in the UK we can refocus our efforts and time on the Collective, and we're excited to announce that we have recently joined Morris+Company's new co-working space in 215 Mare Street, Hackney. This gives us access to a photo studio, meeting rooms and an exhibition and event space where we'll host our future activities.
As MoCo founding director Joe Morris says, this new studio "has been designed with the capacity to explore a series of residencies with like-minded and driven organisations." It's not just a desk space but a container of shared ideas and experiences.
We are also sharing the space with Beyond the Box, a creative practice that, through co-design, helps young people and communities find their voice and use that voice with vigour; EDIT, a vegan, hyper-seasonal and low-impact restaurant; Here We Are, a new young architectural practice.
Our first collaborative event will be on the weekend of the 16th and 17th of September when the studio will be open to the public as part of Open House 2023. We will release more info soon!
About Morris+Company and the 215 Mare Street community
The 215 Mare Street community is a Home of Ideas, a building, a workspace, a community space, a restaurant, a gallery, a vision that brings the art of architecture directly to the High Street. Conceived by Morris+Company architects it hosts in its co-working a number of creative companies working in the built environment.
